And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Lonely child. Friendly father-figure. She trusts him. He tells her about Jesus. Takes her to church. More trust is built. He teaches her about secret things. Sexual things. She thinks it’s normal.
She grows up to think sex equals love. She’s promiscuous. Hangs out on street corners. Let’s guys pay her for sex. Turns tricks. Hooker. Stripper. Drug addict. Alcoholic. Used. Dirty. Raped. Discarded. Who would want her?
She runs away. Far away. Says men are scary. Turns to women. Confuses lust with love. Empty. Hopeless and broken. At least she’s calling the shots now.
Thinks she’s gone too far. Too far to be touched by Jesus. He’s too clean. She’s too messed up. Then she hears hope. And His arms are open. Wide.
She runs into them…
